To support the roll-out of Covid-19 vaccination programmes in Vienna, Superpedestrian has announced the provision of 10,000 free rides on its shared e-scooter, Link.
This latest offer is in addition to €1m worth of free rides already rolled out across Spain and Italy by Superpedestrian to help get residents vaccinated, and builds on a similar programme in the company’s U.S. markets.
According to Superpedestrian, the Vienna vaccination programme will be of particular benefit to people living in low-income communities, who may otherwise struggle to reach vaccination centres.
The operator provided a similar solution in Seattle, where 15% of all journeys on Link scooters began or ended in disadvantaged areas, 10 times the next-nearest provider, as reported by figures Superpedestrian released following data provided by Seattle Department of Transportation.
“We’re so grateful to the courage of medical staff who continue to work tirelessly to safeguard communities,” said Haya Verwoord Douidri, VP (EMEA) at Superpedestrian.
“We already provide free rides for these heroes, so now is the time to help residents play their part by getting to vaccination appointments. This free rides campaign will help protect the health of many people across Vienna.”
To redeem free rides to vaccination centres or government-organised vaccination parties, riders need to download the Link Scooter app, and complete a short online form to have €10 added to their account.
