British micromobility operator Zwings has launched a new subscription service in Yeovil, enabling regular e-scooter riders to choose from four payment options.
According to the e-scooter company, the Zwings Ride Pass will simplify daily commutes and provide an affordable mobility option. Riders in Yeovil will have access to £50, £25, £10 and £5 packages, all offering up to an hour of free rides and additional credits.
Joe Lewin, Zwings CEO, said: “As we move towards summer, Zwings rental e-scooters have become an essential socially-distanced, sustainable, and enjoyable transport solution in Yeovil.
“Most of our riders use our e-scooters as a first and last mile commuting option for their daily personal trips. We hope that the introduction of services like Zwings Ride Pass will help achieve long-term behavioural changes within Yeovil, and encourage people to switch to sustainable modes of travel – ultimately reimagining the way communities travel by creating a new culture of shared transportation.”
The service can be accessed through the Zwings app, with the £50 and £25 passes valid for a month and the £10 option expiring after two weeks. The operator added the £5 ride pass is a perfect solution for the occasional and first-time riders, looking for a more convenient experience while testing Zwings e-scooters.
South Somerset district council portfolio holder for environment, Sarah Dyke, added: “This ride pass is a great initiative to reward users who have embraced and incorporated regular e-scootering into their day to day lives and have reduced the reliance on their cars.
“We hope this new incentive will encourage more people to make the switch to this sustainable, cleaner mode of transport for those short about town trips and be advocates for cleaner air and a better environment for all.”
