Republican members of the Minnesota House of Representatives have introduced a bill which would prohibit certain uses of state resources for a potential mileage based user fee. Bob Barrett, Steve Drazkowski, Joe McDonald and Peggy Scott proposed bill HF-389 on 29 January and the bill was immediately referred to the Committee on Higher Education, Policy and Finance for further scrutiny. In addition to placing restrictions on state funded activities, the bill also seeks to curb funding for similar research conducted by the University of Minnesota and board of trustees of the Minnesota state colleges and universities.
