European mobility app Free Now has received a new three-year private hire vehicle (PHV) operator licence in London.
The licence was issued by Transport for London and means Free Now currently holds the longest PHV licence of the four largest operators in London.
Since the pandemic, the PHV market in the UK has grown with Free Now reporting that it has quadrupled its PHV tours in June 2022 compared to the previous year.
Free Now currently connects users with more than 40,000 registered drivers in nine cities across the UK.
The platform has been designed to bring together disparate demand and supply together more intelligently to save emissions, reduce dependence on private cars and increase urban mobility efficiency.
Within the past year Free Now has expanded its mobility offering to include e-scooters and e-bikes through app integrations with operators active in the market including Dott, HumanForest and Tier.
