Gearing up for the launch of its RUC pilot programme, the Oregon Department for Transportation (ODOT) has launched myorego.org, the official website of the state’s road usage charge programme. On 1 July, up to 5,000 volunteers will pay for the miles they drive in this groundbreaking scheme. As well as providing advice on the programme, the website allows members of the public to calculate their estimated payment under the new scheme and compare this with their existing costs. The site also contains information on Sanef, Verizon Telematics and Azuga, who were recently selected as preliminary vendors. Verizon and Azuga will compete with each other to provide tracking and services to volunteers, allowing users a choice of both provider and device.
