Coventry University’s Institute of Coding (IoC) will team up with international engineering firm Horiba MIRA to offer a Connected Autonomous Vehicle Systems MSc for this academic year.
The course, which will be partly delivered at the MIRA Technology Institute near Nuneaton, will focus on the software and computer systems needed in automated driving systems. It will combine both practical elements and lectures in nine modules covering safety, cyber security and human factors.
Created to meet the increased demand for development and manufacture of autonomous vehicles the MSc will be open to postgraduate students with a computer science or related degree as well as candidates with B2B automotive, transport, tiered supply chain and logistics industry experience.
According to Horiba MIRA the course will provide an opportunity for businesses within the automotive and manufacturing industry to up-skill their staff in a fast growing sector.
Deepak Farmah, Coventry University IoC business development manager said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Horiba MIRA on this course, as it is crucial that students are able to gain practical experience to enhance their learning so they can eventually make a seamless transition into industry.”
