US smart parking provider ParkMobile has partnered with Google to enable users to pay for parking through Google Maps.
The deal follows the integration of ParkMobile and the redesigned Google Pay app in November 2020.
Currently, ParkMobile’s users can pay for parking in some 240 cities across the USA without needing to download a separate parking app or create an account.
Now with the new Google Maps feature, users can navigate to their destination and then pay for parking at most locations where ParkMobile is accepted.
A ‘pay for parking’ button has been added to Google Maps with users taken directly to the ParkMobile section in the Google Pay app. Users enter the parking zone number, add time and finish the payment with any credit or debit card.
Jon Ziglar CEO of ParkMobile, said: “We know people are constantly jumping between navigation and parking apps. This new feature enables users to navigate to their destination and then quickly pay for parking in one seamless experience.”
Furthermore, users can extend parking time from the Google Pay app without going back to the metre.
The new feature has been launched on Android but will come to iOS soon, according to ParkMobile.
