E-bike provider HumanForest has partnered with Islington Council to support its cycle training scheme through access to its fleet.
HumanForest plans to provide unlimited access to two e-bikes to Islington Council for a scheme aiming to improve wider cycling proficiency, with a focus on the use of EVs.
The local authority’s free cycle training is in line with cycling charity Bikeability’s standards, according to its mission to make cycling easier and more accessible.
HumanForest has previously held community-focused events, where it has offered e-bike training sessions and route planning tips.
Islington is currently equipped with 36 HumanForest parking spaces that are currently free of charge.
The partnership hopes to boost the number of people cycling in London, supported by HumanForest’s proposed incentives, such as 10 free daily minutes of riding per customer.
Agustin Guilisasti, founder and CEO at HumanForest, said: “We are delighted to partner with Islington Council for their adult cycle skills programme.
“Making sustainable transport accessible and affordable is critical to the industry continuing to improve London’s air quality.
“The launch of this initiative, in partnership with the council, will help to build more peoples’ confidence in cycling and we will support those riders to make it a daily habit by providing 10 minutes free riding per day.”
Islington Council claims the programme is part of its mission to build a “healthy, fair, accessible and enjoyable transport environment” for local residents.
