PeddleSmart and Stalcom Automotive Technologies have announced the co-development of a range of zero-emission micro-delivery vehicles, including pedal-assisted electric cargo bikes, quadricycles and micro-vans.
According to both companies, the partnership will present a new offering to fleet customers, using lightweight, sustainable material and process technologies that deliver significant lifetime cost savings. Overall, the new vehicles will help reduce urban pollution and congestion and help move the industry toward a significantly improved urban environment.
One of the vehicles being introduced to the market this November is the Urban200. Able to transport 200kg (400 lb) for up to 40 miles (65km) and access bus lanes, cycle lanes and pedestrian areas, this small freight vehicle will enable transport and sustainability managers across multiple transport sectors to reduce operational costs and their carbon footprint.
“With towns and cities looking to go zero-carbon and planning to expand pedestrian areas, the arrival of the agile Urban200 gives our clients the opportunity to overcome access challenges, operational constraints and integrate with regional micro-hubs,” said Adam Reid, chief executive of PeddleSmart.
Following the introduction of the Urban200, PeddleSmart will then launch a range of quadricycles, N1 category vans and utility vehicles in 2020 aimed at delivery fleet operators.
