A mobile app that coordinates the deliveries of emergency food parcels to the vulnerable and over 70s has launched in St Helens.
The DriverNet platform is being used across the borough by Age UK and St Helen’s Community Transport.
Via the app, an SMS messaging service alerts vulnerable people, their friends and families ahead of a delivery or visit, helping to safeguard and provide peace of mind for the elderly and vulnerable.
The app is scheduled to being used by Age UK volunteers to perform wellbeing checks as a mobile triage service.
“We will gather key data on people’s symptoms, mental health, well being and food requirements and then share this data directly with local authorities, charities and the NHS to provide more informed response and services,” said Anthony Chisnall, CEO of DriverNet.
DriverNet can also be used as a Demand Responsive Transport platform for the NHS to increase patient transport efficiency and the movement of NHS employees.
