An upgrade to global mobility and ITS company Q-Free’s Intrada Insight software for optimising end-to-end video toll transaction processing has been announced.
The latest update to the software, which collects vehicle data from cameras and sensors mounted along toll roads, focuses on efficiency in handling vast data volumes, generated by all-electronic toll collection systems, in challenging network topologies with limited bandwidth.
According to Q-Free, the enhanced software aims to ensure revenue growth and cost reduction for agencies and a more seamless tolling experience for road users.
It will do so by facilitating scalable data downloads and transfers, optimising bandwidth usage, and supporting multiple data streams, enhancing operational flexibility.
Intrada Insight works by assigning a digital fingerprint that enables automation-rate-increasing features such as grouping and using a fingerprint database.
Other features include a human-machine learning feedback loop for improved automated plate reads, reduced reliance on manual review, and advanced technologies such as multi-OCR engines and deep neural networks for high read rates and transaction processing automation.
