Robin Hood Network, operated by Nottingham City Transport, has launched its Robin Hood Flexible Days travel card, which allows travellers to bulk-buy individual days of multi-operator travel.
The Robin Hood Flexible Days card can reportedly offer savings of up to 30%, compared to pricing per day, and works on bus, tram and train travel.
The cards are available to use for 20 or 50 individual days of travel across the Greater Nottingham area.
They can be purchased at the Nottingham Travel centre or on Robin Hood Network’s website and can be topped up online, on the Robin Hood app or at dedicated ticket machines.
Audra Wynter, councillor and portfolio holder for highways, transport and parks at Nottingham City Council, said: “We’re very aware of the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on our residents and workers at the moment, so anything which can be done to support people at this time is really important.
“We also know that many commuters who use city trams and buses might have seen their working patterns change during and since the pandemic, with increased ‘hybrid’ models and days at home rather than the office.
“With this in mind, these new travel options save money at the same time as providing much-needed flexibility in terms of when they’re used.”
The project is part of Nottingham and Derby’s Transforming Cities programme, which has secured £161m from the UK Department for Transport to help make local transport infrastructure more sustainable.
The Flexible Days card is currently in a two-year pilot period, which began on 04 July 2022.
