Software firm NotLost has secured a contract with Transport for London (TfL) to replace its lost property system.
According to NotLost, this is a formidable challenge with TfL handling more than 330,000 items of lost property a year across eight modes of transport and more than 400 stations (including bus, Tube, London Overground, TfL Rail and DLR). This makes it the largest lost property operation in Europe.
TfL were looking for a system which would make logging and finding lost property more efficient, reduce paperwork and increase the number of items returned to their customers.
Therefore, NotLost produced an intelligent, cloud-based, highly configurable platform. The company said through its work with other enterprise clients, it understands how to solve complex issues and build a solution that can operate effectively in multiple locations and support thousands of users.
Paul Cowan, performance manager at TfL, said: “We have been providing a valued lost property service for travellers in London since 1933 and we are excited to upgrade our lost property system so that our staff can deliver a better experience to those customers who unfortunately lose their belongings on our network.
“We look forward to working with NotLost in delivering a system that modernises our approach to lost property, ensuring more customers get back their valued possessions.”
