ITS product supplier Q-Free has announced two contract extensions totalling almost NOK30 million (€3.3m).
The first, from the US Miami Dade Expressway in Florida, is associated with the Miami Dade Expressway’s electronic toll collection program. The Q-Free scope comprises the Intrada Automatic Image Review System. The contract extension starts in June 2016 and authorises system upgrades and technical support through June 2018.
The company’s acting CEO, Roar Østbø, said: “We are pleased to provide this unique technical solution and continued related services to support the MDX electronic toll collection program. This award demonstrates Q-Free’s increased visibility and ability to grow in the US tolling market.”
The second extension was received from the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) for service and maintenance on the Stockholm congestion charging system. The order is the first extension of the three-year base contract awarded in 2013, and the extension period is one year from 1 January 2017.
Østbø added: “This is a confirmation of the long-standing relationship between Q-Free and Trafikverket. The Stockholm congestion charging system is an important reference for Q-Free.”
