Emirati investment and holding company ADQ has launched Q Mobility, a new subsidiary that will manage, operate and develop Abu Dhabi’s DARB toll system, alongside the Mawaqif public parking network.
The move is aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of the emirate’s transport infrastructure.
DARB, operational since 2021, manages eight toll gates located at key entry points across Abu Dhabi.
The system was introduced to regulate traffic flow, reduce congestion and encourage the use of alternative transport modes.
Under Q Mobility, the toll network is expected to benefit from enhanced digital integration and smart mobility solutions, further aligning with Abu Dhabi’s broader transport strategy.

The new entity is part of ADQ’s wider transport and logistics portfolio, which also includes Abu Dhabi Airports, AD Ports Group, Etihad Airways, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and Etihad Rail.
ADQ has positioned Q Mobility as a driver of innovation in road pricing and urban mobility, reinforcing its commitment to developing an interconnected and efficient transport ecosystem.

Q Mobility’s oversight of DARB comes as Abu Dhabi continues to prioritise sustainable mobility initiatives, ensuring smoother traffic management while integrating advanced technologies to enhance the tolling experience for road users.
