The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) has awarded a contract to Bettis Asphalt and Construction for the construction of three cashless toll zones to be completed by October 2023.
The award of more than US$4.2m (£3.47m) is part of a cashless tolling rollout that is due to be finished by 2024.
Earlier this year, the KTA announced that it had chosen TransCore as the vendor for a new roadside toll collection programme for its conversion to cashless tolling.
As reported by CiTTi Magazine, TransCore will provide equipment and services that will allow KTA to collect tolls via compatible electronic transponders or vehicle license plates.
