The LA1 tolling facility in Louisiana, USA has officially reopened with an end-to-end roadside toll collection system.
The solution is inclusive of a new tolling gantry, commercial back office system and enhanced customer service centre operations provided by Kapsch TrafficCom.
Originally established in 2009, LA1 is a strategic and critical transportation artery, supporting the oil, petroleum, and chemical industries of southern Louisiana, as well as sport fishing enthusiasts.
“As a key partner, this project was completed under a partnership with Plenary Americas,” said Dan Toohey, SVP of sales and services for Kapsch.
“We are pleased to support this and other public-private partnerships to support the building and re-building of critical infrastructure projects in Louisiana, and look forward to the opportunities ahead.”
Kapsch assumed the management and operation of the system responsibility on 09 November 2023 with the new all-electronic tolling gantry going live.
On 20 November, Kapsch reopened the customer service centre at Golden Meadow and commenced full end-to-end operations of the GeauxPass roadside programme.
