Hungarian company Roatex has been awarded a contract to implement a multi-lane free-flow tolling system in Indonesia.
Roatex and partner the Hungarian Toll Services Company were selected by the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing following a public tender process, which also attracted a bid from PJSC Mostotrest Russia.
According to the auction committee that awarded the contract, the investment value of the project is €350m (£310m). The project will be implemented on a toll road spanning 1,713km (1,065 miles).
The first phase of the project will take approximately one year to complete, after the concession agreement comes into force, with the concession running for a total of 10 years.
Roatex will provide all necessary management and operation services for the duration of the concession.
As previously reported by CiTTi, the solution comprises a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) already been proven in several eastern European countries.
It can be used as a base platform for future developments such as congestion charge service, electronic road pricing, parking fee solutions and logistical services.
