SEAT has announced the development of its first-ever all-electric scooter as the Spanish car maker implements its urban mobility strategy, which focuses on offering sustainable solutions for cities.
The eScooter concept – equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle – will be presented on November 19th at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. It will be available to both private customers and sharing services in 2020.
SEAT president, Luca de Meo, said: “The constant growth of large cities makes achieving efficient mobility one of the main challenges to overcome. Today we are taking a further step in our urban micro-mobility strategy by confirming the launch of the first eScooter in the history of the brand.”
Barcelona is the European city with the most motorcycles per capita. Thus, SEAT will develop this concept in collaboration with Barcelona-based electric motorcycle maker Silence.
