Škoda has revealed pricing and technical details of its new CITIGOe iV – the brand’s first fully-electric production car, which will be released in the UK early next year.
Based on the Citigo, the new CITIGOe iV has been re-engineered to incorporate a lithium‑ion battery pack and 61kW electric motor, giving it a range of up to 140-170 miles (225-273km) on a single charge. The vehicle can reach 62mph (100km/h) in 12.5 seconds and has a top speed of 81mph (130km/h).
Designed to be used in cities, the CITIGOe iV will be available in two trim grades; SE and SE L. Both models feature the same battery and electric motor and offer identical levels of performance.
Mounted in the chassis floor and measuring 1.1 x 1.7m (3.6 x 5.5ft), the CITIGOe iV’s 60Ah battery has a capacity of 36.8kWh and consists of a total of 168 cells. Both models can be charged using a domestic or workplace wall box. With a 7.2kW AC wall box, the battery can be charged to 80% in 4 hours 15 minutes, or 12 hours 37 minutes using a lower-powered 3.6kW home‑charging station.
The SE L model can be charged faster using a Combined Charging System (CCS) charging cable connected to a 40kW DC fast charger. When recharging via CCS, the CITIGOe iV’s battery can be recharged to 80% in 60 minutes. The CITIGOe iV can also be recharged using a standard household plug socket if a wallbox is not available.
The SE model is priced at £20,455. This figure excludes the Government Plug-in Car Grant, which currently allows buyers to receive a £3,500 reduction on the list price of the vehicle. SE models are equipped with climate control air conditioning, three spoke leather steering wheel and handbrake lever, plus Swing DAB radio and remote central locking.
The higher-specification SE L model is priced from £22,815 and adds a raft of additional equipment, including 16-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting, heated front seats and rear parking sensors, and body coloured door mirrors and handles.
Both models can be linked to the Škoda Connect app, which allows owners to check and control selected features of the car remotely, including the charge status of the battery at all times.
CITIGOe iV will be open for order on 10 December 2019 with first deliveries expected early next year.
