Adelaide Metro Tap and Pay has launched on trams and O-Bahn buses, available with Visa, Mastercard or metroCARD, as part of a network-wide ticketing upgrade.
The ticketing upgrade is designed to make public transport simpler, safer and easier to use. Tap and Pay is set to be available on all Adelaide Metro buses by late 2023.
Currently, Adelaide Metro is in the process of fitting new smart validators bus-by-bus, thus passengers transferring between services may find it challenging in the meantime.
For now, Tap and Pay tickets can be used on:
- all trams
- some buses
- trains leaving the Adelaide Railway Station (via special access Gate 1).
What’s more, as Tap and Pay is introduced, the existing paper MetroTickets are are being phased out.
The single trips and day trips that were available as paper MetroTickets are now available on a metroCARD.
