Milton Keynes based mobility start-up Tomorrow’s Journey has received a Highly Commended placement in the Fleet Entrepreneur category at the Fleet Heroes Awards organised by the Energy Savings Trust and sponsored by MINI.
Tomorrow’s Journey impressed the judges with its shared neutral fleet concept which powers its platform JRNY, and the scale of its potential impact.
The company’s platform aims to make mobility scalable, bringing together asset owners with companies that have transport demand. Vehicle owners, ranging from businesses to fleets, local authorities, leasing companies and rental firms use the system to list their underutilised assets and make them available to a range of potential users.
Any type of mobile asset can be listed on the platform, including agricultural equipment, commercial vehicles and cars.
“JRNY enables assets to be pooled to provide a flexible and cost-effective way to meet demand, particularly as interest in services such as car-sharing grows,” said Tomorrow’s Journey founder and chief executive officer Chris Kirby.
Hire times can range from a ‘by the hour’ arrangement, a day’s hire and to a 30-day hire.
Tomorrow’s Journey will be running a number of pilots in Q1 of 2019.
