Traffic Technology Ltd, a traffic solutions provider, has announced the Argos AI portable traffic analyser, which is designed to provide mobile traffic analysis using artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision.
The tool was developed for use at traffic hubs, roundabouts and multi-lanes roads to survey traffic and provide an up-to-date record of vehicle volume, classification and speed.
The portable battery-powered Argos reportedly provides up to 48 hours of continuous use and employs roadside computer vision to provide real time identification of vehicles, from bicycles to multi-axle heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
Traffic Technology claims that the GDPR-compliant system can be quickly installed and provides rapid results for onsite data validation.
Richard Toomey, managing director of Traffic Technology, said: “Argos AI takes vision based classified vehicle monitoring to a new level.
“With true ‘edge’ technology data is available instantly without the need to transmit files to costly server farms or overseas processing facilities.”
According to the company, data evaluation is available via its web-based communications platform, myTrafficdata 2.0.
