The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has held a national day of action against Britain’s toll roads. UKIP transport spokewoman, Jill Seymour MEP, says that drivers are already paying more than enough in taxes to deserve free access to the entire UK transport network. Once a fringe group, latest polls show UKIP running third behind the Labour and Conservative parties, well ahead of the Liberal Democrats, Britain’s traditional third party and junior member of the current coalition. If the polls are correct, UKIP may hold the balance of power after the next general election, which takes place on 7 May.
