CEVA Logistics has announced plans to switch its UK company car fleet of more than 220 vehicles to fully electric models by 2025.
This month the company took delivery of its first all-electric cars as part of phase one of its new programme, which will see more than half of CEVA’s company vehicles electrified by the end of 2022 as existing cars reach the end of their leases.
According to CEVA, its UK employees currently drive 1,391,039 miles (2,238,000km) annually, creating a carbon footprint of 380 tonnes of CO2. When the EV switchover is complete, the carbon impact will come down to 118 tonnes – an annual savings of 262 tonnes.
Furthermore, as all CEVA-managed sites in the UK now use totally renewable energy, all EVs that charge up at the facilities will be carbon neutral.
Jamie Foster, procurement director for Europe at CEVA Logistics, said: “This change has been possible through the vision and passion of our people and has been a collaborative endeavour with all team members.
“Everyone was committed to the change and confident that it could be achieved, and we are now able to make this announcement.”
