VINCI has signed a 54-year concession contract with the French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy to finance, build, operate and maintain the 24km western Strasbourg bypass.
The dual two-lane carriageway section connects the A4/A35 in the north with the A352/A35 junction in the south. Without public subsidy, VINCI will entirely finance the project, geared towards improving mobility and safety by smoothing flow around Strasbourg.
Once construction is completed, the operation, the toll collection and maintenance of the infrastructure will be carried out by a dedicated VINCI Autoroutes subsidiary. It will use state-of-the-art facilities (traffic control and monitoring, intermodal car parks, car sharing) and smart services.
