Network Rail and Southeastern have partnered with Earth Cubs to launch new educational videos for children aged between 3 and 11, focusing on sustainability.
Earth Cubs uses storytelling to create positive and informative entertainment for children, the videos made for teachers to tackle the more complex subjects that children may not be familiar with.
Network Rail’s Southern Region and Southeastern have been working together since 2022 to combine their sustainability strategies and focus on ways they can work together to create a cleaner, greener, more socially responsible region that is resilient to climate change.
The two organisation’s commitment to reducing waste, pollution, carbon, increasing biodiversity and community engagement is captured through these educational videos, hoping children will develop an interest in both sustainability and the railway.
Social value manager at Network Rail, Kathleen O’Malley, said: “This fantastic new video will help kids learn why the train is so much better than taking the car in a fun way.
“We’re on a mission to educate and inform everyone about the benefits of rail travel.
“From a more relaxed journey to faster travel times and most importantly, it being better for the environment, we believe train travel is the most sustainable and fun way to explore and commute across the country.”
