Ev.energy, an electric vehicle (EV) software specialist, has launched Pando, which it describes as a cloud-based EV charging tool for commercial organisations.
The idea behind the tool was to support the management of smart chargers by enabling organisations to deliver over-the-air updates and maintenance checks, the management of chargers from varying brands in one platform and to support independent fleet management.
The company reports a testing period involving 20 partners and more than 20,000 chargers, which has been followed up by the rollout of Pando this month.
Mainly aimed at EV charger manufacturers, the platform is also suited to the needs of distributors and installers, according to Ev.energy. What’s more, the company says that those using Pando will be compliant with UK Smart Charging Regulations and afforded access to further compliance testing and charger sharing.
This function was included to improve the credentials of all organisations involved in the EV industry’s supply chain, its developer has said.
To support quick installations, every charger connected to Pando can be pre-commissioned, the company claims. Some of its other features include direct control of smart charging units, load testing capabilities and adjusted smart charging settings.
Nick Woolley, CEO at Ev.energy, said: “The full launch of Pando is incredibly exciting for the team at ev.energy, as the tool unlocks the real potential of the Ev.energy, and bring smart and grid integrated charging to every home, flat, and workplace.
“Our partners and early adopters have helped shape the service, and we’re now ready to roll this functionality out globally to property managers, installers, charger manufacturers and fleets.
“Pando will help ensure our partners and clients are not only compliant with the latest smart charging regulations, but they have the power to scale their business, with minimal effort and full support from our team.”
Ev.energy has said it plans to expand on Pando by growing the capability of shared infrastructure used by chargepoint operators, businesses with EV charging parking spaces and property managers.
