Alexander Dennis, a British bus manufacturer, will be delivering five new electric buses to the London borough of Redbridge.
The chosen model is the Enviro200 single-decker bus, which will join the fleet of the Redbridge Passenger transport service, which is responsible for 25,000 weekly journeys from its Ilford base.
This make is reportedly 10.8m long and equipped with Alexander Dennis’ fuel-saving technology, designed to reduce emissions through an engine stop-start system and electric cooling fans for smart management of the alternator and air compressor. Its manufacturer also claims this make is certified as a Low Emission Bus by the UK Zemo Partnership.
Colin Clarke, procurement lead at London Borough of Redbridge Passenger Transport Service, said: “These new buses are an excellent addition to our fleet and we’re pleased to be able to introduce them to our many customers.”
What’s more, the vehicles are equipped with USB chargers and CCTV cameras, according to Alexander Dennis, which also says this is the borough’s first order of its vehicles.
