Cross river Partnership (CRP) has announced that its Virtual Loading Bay (VLB) Trial is expanding across London, opening up the search for further collaboration.
Two VLBs were launched in the London Borough of Camden in collaboration with Grid Smarter Cities earlier this month.
VLBs are dedicated spaces at the kerbside that can be pre-booked by participating operators to make deliveries more efficient, safe and sustainable whilst improving congestion and air quality in the local area.
The two Camden VLBs and future additions will add to the growing network trialling across London, with VLBs available in City of London Corporation, London Borough of Camden, London Borough of Lambeth and London Borough of Richmond.
Speaking at the launch of the Camden VLBs, project manager at CRP, Katherine Fairfax, said: “CRP are delighted to launch two VLBs in the London Borough of Camden, adding to the growing network of VLBs being trialled across London.
“CRP’s Defra-funded kerbside management trial provides an exciting opportunity to test Grid Smarter Cities’ innovative kerbside technology and monitor the impacts to local congestion and air quality.”
Achievements and innovations in traffic management will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
