With five bills set out in the King’s Speech, transport has the biggest legislative agenda for the newly elected Labour government in the UK.
Secretary of state for transport Louise Haigh has pledged to “deliver the biggest overhaul to transport in a generation”.
In the video above, Haigh provides a brief overview of all five transport bills and explains why these pieces of proposed legislation are “essential to delivering the prime minister’s missions for government and will be mission critical for kickstarting economic growth, unlocking opportunities across the country, and accelerating to net zero”.
Achievements and innovations in urban transportation will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
